What we do.
The Ushers of Dunamis carry the practical care of every service. We seat guests, hand out programs, take up the offering, serve communion, and keep the flow of the room steady from the moment the first person walks in to the moment the last person walks out. When the work is done well, no one notices — and that is the point.
An usher is not a security guard, and an usher is not a host. An usher is a pastor at the door. We see who comes in; we see who needs help finding a seat; we see the visitor sitting alone; we see the family with three children who need an extra row. Our work is hospitality with discernment — quiet, attentive, ready.
Our heart
The ministry of the usher is the ministry of welcome. Long before anyone hears a sermon or sings a song, they meet the church through us — through a smile at the door, an offered seat, a program placed in their hands. We carry the first impression of God's house, and we take that seriously.
We believe order is a form of love. A well-run service is a gift to a congregation that came to encounter God; chaos at the door distracts from what should be undistracted. Our standard is calm presence, careful attention, and the kind of practiced rhythm that lets the Spirit move without our getting in the way.
If you have a heart for hospitality, a sense for what a room needs, and the patience to serve quietly week after week — come and find us. We meet briefly before each service for prayer and assignment. Stop by twenty minutes early on a Sunday morning and we will introduce you.
